My weekend Instagram'd ♥

Since getting my iPhone around three weeks ago, it's definitely not a lie to say my I've been documenting my life in photographs considerably more so. Not only because of the 8 megapixel camera (I'm not being paid by Apple to say this... But I'm happy to be if Mr Cook would like to do so!), but because of one little app which is taking the Free Apps chart by storm; Instagram.

In a social sphere where almost every aspect of my life has somehow been shaped, influenced or involved the internet and more than likely at least one social media platform, it seems only natural to show all your online friends exactly what you're doing, what you've been doing, where you've been and even who with. With this thought, it's no surprise that the increased use of social media has lead people to being envious of people they don't even know in real life, simply through the pictures they have uploaded to various social media platforms.

Essentially, Instagram allows the moments we capture using our iPhones to look even better. It adds filters and effects, previously only achievable if you're at one with Adobe's Photoshop or similar photo editing software. Instagram has made awesome looking photos available to all, ever increasing the existence of social jealously.

This being said, here's my little contribution to Instagram's greatness, a few snaps from my weekend...

Friday night Friendship bracelet
Flowers The armoury
Nails Fairy lights

♥ Friday night; my friend Leanne & I took a trip to our local Waitrose to grab some dinner, which consisted of the most delicious pizza, flatbread and 'real' lemonade
♥ Over the weekend I successfully made my first friendship bracelet; I'd seen these all over Tumblr and Instagram and definitely got a little bit of the social jealousy bug, and decided I couldn't justify buying one from Topshop for a ridiculous amount of money (when I'd rather spend my hard earned cash on pizza instead!) hence deciding to make my own, super easy!
♥ Sunday I decided to leave my hair 'au natural' i.e. curly and pin, twist, twirl and clip my hair until it looked like this, I then added a flower slide for a bohemian and summery feel; effortless!
♥ My best friend from Chester visited on Sunday and we visited Shrewsbury and ate at The Armoury, I had a roasted vegetable lasagne (packed with courgettes, aubergines and peppers) with an apple, grape and chicory salad... Amazing! - Can you tell I love food yet?!)
♥ I was experimenting with my creative talents on my nails on Sunday evening, having bought a new glitter nail polish and a few new nail art bits and pieces, and this was the result. Currently I'm sporting the glitter nail adorned with the white heart on my ring finger, absolute love.
♥ Finally, this is a random picture of the fairy lights twirled around my bed, nothing much to say about it really, just aw.

In all, I love Instagram. I love sharing my pictures and equally having a nosey at other people's; one of the best things about Instagram is the ability to follow other Instagram users and 'like' and 'comment' their pictures (sounds familiar!). I've recently downloaded a new app called 'PowerCam' and I definitely can't wait to use it and see how it compares.

A little trip to Bicester and Oxford ♥

So, a couple of weeks ago, my friend Hayley and I were due to visit Lincoln, but due to mother nature and powers with the white stuff, we couldn't go. Not deterred from having a little excursion out of Shropshire (lovely as it is, it's nice to visit other parts of the country now and again!), we excitedly panned across the maps app on our new white iPhone 4s' and decided a trip to Bicester Village would be ideal. Mainly, we were very eager to visit the Cath Kidston outlet shop, and also peruse around other expensive outlets, oogling at things we couldn't afford and drink many Costa's!

Here are some photos I took from our day trip to Bicester Village on my new iPhone (did I mention I had a new iPhone?!)...

The journey...

Bicester Village...

(Note Hayley's little beaming face outside the Dior outlet!)

Bicester Village is certainly considerably smaller than what I imagined, compared to Cheshire Oaks which is the outlet village I'm more familiar with. That being said, the quality of the outlets is more upmarket and being a girl who adores designers, good things do come in small packages so to speak!

One of the best items I spotted all day was this bag in the Anne Fontaine outlet...

Handbags are my absolute weakness, so I was devastated to learn that this particular black and gold studded, fringed, leather beauty was a colossal £575! Still so pretty though...

However, being determined not to leave Bicester Village empty handed, I did however make a couple of sneaky purchases! Which I will discuss more in an upcoming post, but for now here is a little peek at one!

As I mentioned above, Bicester Village is quite small and before we knew it, we had visited all the outlets we wanted to and were eager to discover more of beautiful Oxfordshire. Having spoke to a lovely sales assistant in Temperley, we decided to get the park and ride into Oxford itself and have a gander around the city made famous by it's university and Harry Potter!

We ate at a delightful little restaurant 'Giraffe' which is actually part of a chain, but the laid back and individual atmosphere meant it definitely didn't feel like it was! The food was ridiculously good, extremely filling and most certainly food for the soul!

After eating, we decided it was probably time to head back to Shropshire, so off we set, content with our spontaneous day out and most certainly planning another visit! And of course, a visit to Costa on the way home was obligatory!
