When you love the online world as much as I do, it's difficult to avoid immersing yourself in the latest newsworthy controversial story. Today, as I arrived home from work and was catching up on the thousands of tweets I'd missed reading over the past seven hours, I was astounded to read many with the hashtag #samanthabrick. Intrigued, I looked over the tweets and quickly saw a link to an article on the Daily Mail website.
In the article, journalist Samantha Brick depicts how her extreme attractiveness affects her daily life. It's quite a read... What amazes me is she finds reasons in other people's relationships (be it positive or negative) towards her, solely based on her appearance, with little regard for the other factors which contribute to how attractive a person is (I'm talking personality mainly).
"Perhaps then the sisterhood will finally stop judging me so harshly on what I look like, and instead accept me for who I am."
Incredible closing sentence. Perhaps, if she didn't limit her writing skills and creativity into sharing her insane attractiveness and how it affects her everyday in her life (cue violins), she would be accepted for her journalism skills. Which I'm afraid in my opinion, have gone a little AWOL - because nobody enjoys a Bragatha Christie, especially one which feels sorry for themselves.
Anyway, this post perfectly depicts the power of social media and I am eager to see what the next development will be! Whatever the drive behind the article, no doubt it will have raised the amount of Google searches conducted for 'Samantha Brick' today!
